  • Registration Open!

    Trollwood Winter Academy is back in person and online this January. After a successful summer at Trollwood Performing Arts School is thrilled to invite students back into its facilities this winter. Trollwood Winter Academy offers a variety of in-person and online youth performing arts classes, running from January 6 through February 13, 2022. These informative and unique sessions in vocal music, dance, improv, and sketch comedy are offered to middle school and high school students in Grades 5-12. Registration is open now.

  • State of the Schools

    The Fargo Public Schools will hold the 2021-22 State of the Schools Address & Public Focus Group on Thursday, January 13 from 6:00 - 8:15 pm. Parents, staff and community are invited to participate and are encouraged to pre-register by noon on December 30, 2021 by clicking MORE below to sign up online. Questions posed in the focus groups will concentrate on the District’s Strategic Plan.

  • Hear for the Kids Podcast: Trauma

    Carl Ben Eielson Counselor Rachel Johnson joins hosts Cassie Larson, counselor at Eagles Elementary, and FPS Student Wellness and Family Facilitator Carly Gaddie on the new Hear for the Kids podcast. On the podcast, Johnson gives an overview of trauma and explains why it is important to look through a trauma lens.

  • Updated Mitigation Guidance

    Fargo Cass Public Health issued a letter to Fargo Public Schools with updated guidance on COVID-19 mitigation strategies effective Saturday, January 15, 2022. The guidance no longer requires universal masking in schools. Therefore, effective Monday, January 17, 2022, masks will be recommended, not required, in all Fargo Public School buildings.

  • Thanksgiving – A Native American Perspective

    There is more to the story of Thanksgiving than the old folktale of the pilgrims inviting the "Indians" to a feast which became known as the "First Thanksgiving," and it’s important that we teach the facts from many perspectives.   • Update on COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies

  • Free Pre-K Program for FPS Families

    A free at-home Pre-K program is available for FPS families. Waterford Upstart is an online kindergarten readiness program that gives your child a fun start in reading, math, and science in just 15 minutes a day, five days a week. Students learn a variety of ready skills including letter recognition, letter sounds, initial sounds, real words, vocabulary and more. Waterford Upstart provides everything you need to help your child get ready for kindergarten, even a computer.

  • 2020-21 Annual Report

    As evidence of Fargo Public Schools’ commitment to our patrons, the FPS Annual Report is available, and it showcases the qualities and services of our school district. The report details include enrollment, staffing, and budget numbers, and overviews student services and student assessment data. Thank you for your continued support as we serve the citizens of Fargo by providing its students an excellent educational experience.

  • Safety Committee

    The Safety Committee is a district committee comprised of staff members from various roles across the District. The committee addresses challenges involving safety in FPS collectively. During the October meeting of the Safety Committee, the purpose was reviewed and updated.   • UPDATED: COVID-19 Testing Sites

    Fargo Public Schools is pleased to offer COVID-19 testing sites to its families as part of it’s testing program. FPS will test students and staff members who are deemed a close contact in the school setting in order for the individuals to remain in school.

  • Critical Needs

  • Hear for the Kids

    School activities are a huge part of the lives of students. Whether they participate in the arts, sports, or a non-curricular club, activities teach students life lessons, help them build relationships, and aid their social-emotional wellbeing. North High assistant principal and activities director Dan Shultis made a guest appearance on the Hear for the Kids podcast to discuss the importance of activities and explain the opportunities available to FPS students.

  • Overcoming Chronic Absenteeism

    Students who are chronically absent are at serious risk for low academic success. In addition, students who are chronically absent are less likely to read at grade level, have lower test scores, and have an increased risk of dropping out of school.   • Keeping Students in School

    With the goal of keeping students and staff in school, Fargo Public Schools is working to create a COVID-19 testing program in schools. Each school will have a scheduled time during the day that they will have BinaxNOW rapid testing available for both students and staff. If a student or staff member is deemed an unmasked close contact, they can use this program to remain in school. Visit the FPS Stay in School web site for additional information.

  • Together Counseling

    While counseling services are always available in the buildings, additional clinical counseling is available to support the mental wellbeing of students and staff through Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding. In partnership with Together Counseling, the Connect and Support Program provides counseling services for coping skills, wellness strategies, time management, family conflict, and stress reduction.

  • COVID-19 Data

    Fargo Public Schools provides a weekly report of COVID-19 data within the District. Information is updated every Friday that school is in session, and can be found on the FPS COVID-19 data webpage.

  • Visitor Management System

    Safety in our schools is a top priority. Recently installed building visitor management systems help FPS to monitor all visitors who enter our schools. Visitors will need to present U.S. government issued IDs to enter all school buildings.
