  • Drum Circle Training

    Elementary music teachers recently participated in drum circle wellness training. The evidence-based technique helps promote social and emotional skills. Teachers were taught how to incorporate this lesson and similar activities into the classroom.

  • Middle School Music Opportunities

    During this time of year, 5th grade students throughout Fargo Public Schools (FPS) normally have the opportunity to meet with middle school band and choir teachers to learn more about music and be fitted to play instruments. Due to COVID-19, this meeting will not be able to happen. To help students prepare for their musical education in middle school, the FPS performing arts program has created resources.   • PTA Refections

    Students are invited to submit their works of art in the National PTA Reflections Program. The contest is designed to help pre-kindergarten through grade 12 students explore their thoughts, feelings, and ideas while developing their artistic talents. Categories include dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. This year's theme is "I Matter Because..." Register by February 1, 2021.

  • Getting Creative with Nutrition

    School nutrition programs across the country have been asked to run increasingly complex operations during COVID-19. The Fargo Public Schools Nutrition Services team has risen to the occasion and gotten creative with dishes that work well both in cafeterias and in take-home meal formats. In this feature column, Nutrition Services Director Cindy Hogenson outlines the many adaptations from her team. She also shares details regarding which COVID-19 related changes could become permanent.
