Fargo Public Schools is excited to welcome incoming Kindergartners on Monday, August 28, 2023!
Parents are able to complete online registration beginning on February 1, 2023. The registration process should take approximately 15-20 minutes per student. It is recommended to collect the following information prior to beginning the online registration process.
- Student Address and Contact Information
- Parent Address and Contact Information
- Emergency Contact Information
- Student Health Information, including physician and dentist name and contact information
Please note: your child must be age 5 by July 31, 2023, to attend school in the fall.
Attention ECSE families: students currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program or students who are currently in its evaluation process do not need to register for kindergarten at this time, as students are already in the FPS system and will be promoted to kindergarten status accordingly. ECSE families will receive an email to update registration forms in July.

Registration is a two-part process:
Part One: Pre-Register Online
Steps:Verify the school your child will attend with your current address at www.fargo.k12.nd.us/AddressLookupComplete a Pre-Registration form. The school will review and accept your form, which may take up to 2 days.

Part Two: Complete Registration Forms and Submit Documentation
Steps:When you receive an email from enrollment@fargo.k12.nd.us, follow the instructions to create a Parent PowerSchool account and add your child to the account or add your child to your current Parent PowerSchool account. (Please also check your spam or junk mail for this email reply)Log into your Parent PowerSchool account and click the forms icon on the left side of the menu options.Complete and submit each form, the next form will automatically load after each submit.The following documents can be uploaded on the registration form RND-Required Documents, or they can be dropped off at the child's school during school hours:
Proof of Identity *Proof of Immunization *Proof of Residency *Once all of the above steps are completed, your child is registered for the 2023-24 school year. Prior to the start of the school year, you can also use your PowerSchool Parent account to pay school fees online. If you have any questions, call 701-446-1030. The cost is $7, credit card payment is accepted. - A Copy of Your Child’s Current Immunization Record
North Dakota law requires that children be properly immunized or be in the process of being immunized before school starts. Parents can learn more by reading the Kindergarten Immunization Registration Letter.
Note: North Dakota has a “No Shots: No School Attendance” law that is enforced by our School Board. - A Copy of a Current Document that Includes the Child’s Parent/Guardian Name and Address
(e.g., utility bill and bank statement)
