Current Students

Current FPS students interested in attending the Self-Directed Academy should complete the Self-Directed Academy Transfer Request Form

Self-Directed Academy will review the request and notify parents as well as the student's current school of the change if the transfer request is approved. 

Once approved, SDA staff will contact the parent to complete the in-district petition process in addition to scheduling a tour and student/parent orientation. 

Students must continue to attend their current school of enrollment during this transfer request process.

Students New to Fargo Public Schools

(Students who are new to Fargo Public Schools for the 2026-27 school year can register after July 1st, 2026 and before July 31, 2026).

Start by completing the Pre-Registration form.

  • When selecting a school, select the Self-Directed Academy.
  • For details on eligibility and required residency documentation, see our K-12 Enrollment Policy.

After the Self-Directed Academy reviews and approves your form, you'll receive an email explaining how to create a PowerSchool Parent account. You will then be asked to:

  1. Complete registration forms
  2. Provide required documentation
    • Birth Certificate
    • Proof of Address
    • Immunizations
