How long have you been a police officer?

I have worked for the Fargo Police Department since 2000. Before that, I worked for the Cass County Sheriff’s dept as a corrections officer for 3 ½ years.

How long have you been a School Resource Officer (SRO)?

The 2026-27 school year will be my eighth year as the South High School Resource Officer.

Why did you become an SRO? 

I’d always listened to other SROs about their experiences. Being a traffic guy, I never gave it much thought. When asked to fill in for North's SRO, I thought I'd give it a shot, and I loved it! It was a nice change and I discovered I liked being in a school helping students. Being part of a team and something bigger than myself again.

What is your training and education?

I graduated from Fargo South High School in 1989. I attended both NDSU and MSUM for my degree Criminal Justice. I also attended the North Dakota State Academy in 2000 after being hired by the Fargo Police Department. My biggest contribution through training and education that I’ve made for the Police Department is being the subject matter expert on Impaired Drivers.
