Contact Information: 701.241-1403; nkjonaas@fargond.gov
How long have you been a police officer?
I have been a Fargo Police Officer for 19 years. During this time, I have been assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division, Specialty Services Unit as a School Resource Officer, and the Criminal Investigations Division where I was Detective in the Crimes Against Children Unit.
Why did you want to become an SRO supervisor?
In my current role I have the opportunity to collaborate with Fargo Police Department School Resource Officers and Fargo Public School District Administrators to help ensure the safety of students and staff across the District. The relationship between Fargo Public Schools and the Fargo Police Department has always been strong. I look forward to continuing that relationship with the goal of ensuring a safe and unified community built on trust, accountability, and inclusion.
What is your training and education?
I graduated from the University of Mary with my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. I completed my Peace Officer Training through Lake Region State College. I have also received ongoing training in the areas of investigating crimes against children and hostage and crisis negotiations.
