Educating and Empowering All Students to Succeed
Restorative practices exist along a continuum, ranging from proactive strategies that build community and strengthen relationships to responsive actions that address harm and restore trust. On the proactive end, practices like community-building circles foster a sense of belonging and mutual respect. As issues arise, more structured interventions, such as restorative mediations and circles, help address conflicts constructively. At the most intensive level, formal restorative conferences provide an opportunity for individuals to take accountability, repair harm, and rebuild relationships. This continuum ensures that restorative practices can meet the varying needs of a community.
