Late Testing

College Board sets our AP testing schedule for the first two full weeks in May. Due to the high volume of students taking AP tests in FPS, we ask that every effort be made to take AP tests during the two-week testing window. Because life is not predictable, however, there might be a need for late testing.

It is desirable to avoid late testing as much as possible. Late testing might incur extra fees if College Board deems it necessary. Requesting, ordering, and proctoring for late tests also requires more hours of work during a time when testing coordinators are already working long days and neglecting their other FPS duties and responsibilities.

The College Board provides a late testing schedule for times when students are not able to test during the first two weeks of May. Late testing requires approval from College Board. Some reasons College Board might approve for late testing include:

  • Unexpected injury or illness or similar emergency

  • A car accident while driving to the testing site

  • A school-sponsored competition like EDC or state contests

  • A student has two or more exams scheduled for the same time

Late testing will not be approved for reasons such as the following:

  • A student is out of town for a family vacation

  • A student requests more time to prepare for the test
