Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds
The purpose of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) III Fund is to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impacts of COVID-19 on the nation’s students by addressing students’ academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs. Fargo Public Schools has developed its Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan in compliance with receiving ARP ESSER funds.
ESSER III APPROVED APPLICATION

The US Department of Education requires all applicants to post their final approved ESSER III use of funds plan. FPS submitted the ESSER III application on August 16, 2021. The application that was submitted and approved is available at this link.

After the FPS application was submitted, negotiations and modifications with the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction occurred. Final plan approval was received on September 9, 2021. To view the FPS plan in PDF format, please click this link. The plan was updated on August 30, 2023.
REVISIONS AND PUBLIC INPUT

During the period of the ARP ESSER award (until September 2024), FPS will periodically review and revise, as needed, its plan for the safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of services. The plan will be reviewed at least every six months, and FPS will seek and consider public input during the review process. To provide FPS with your feedback on the plan, please use this survey link.
