A MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT GANDHI
I am humbled and excited to serve the students, staff, and community of Fargo as the Superintendent of Fargo Public Schools. Fargo Public Schools has a proven track record of success, and, as superintendent, it is my responsibility to continue our best practices by supporting the incredible Board of Education, staff, and community partners that have demonstrated the compassion and dedication needed to provide a high quality education for all our students in FPS.
Our mission in Fargo Public School is to educate and empower all students to succeed. This means focusing on the needs of all students and collectively working to ensure that we provide opportunities for every child to pursue their goals and dreams and to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to achieve those goals.
To ensure that our schools are committed to excellence through a student-centered learning environment supported by positive collaborations with students, staff, parents, school, and community, we provide students with a broad knowledge base by engaging in a standards-based curriculum with co-curricular opportunities. The Fargo Public Schools Strategic Plan is designed to create the experiences we want for children in our progressive and fast paced community of Fargo.
FPS keeps pace with the economic growth and also the diversity of cultures that now is part of the area communities. We take pride in the commitment all 3,400 staff members show students every day. We are honored with the privilege of educating more than 11,300 students and are dedicated to our mission of “achieving excellence by education and empowering all students to succeed.”

ABOUT DR. GANDHI
A California native, Dr. Rupak Gandhi completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science at Texas A&M University. He holds a master’s degree in special education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ, and holds his doctorate in educational leadership from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Dr. Gandhi began his career in education in the Houston Independent School District. After serving as a Special Education resource teacher through Teach For America, he served as a high school assistant principal, an elementary principal for a campus of 750 students, and lastly, the principal of a comprehensive 6A high school serving nearly 3,000 students. Dr. Gandhi then served as the Research, Data, and Accountability Officer (Assistant Superintendent) for Harrison School District Two in Colorado Springs, CO where he provided leadership and strategic direction for accountability planning, implementation of performance measurements, and reporting of practices for the District.In March 2018, the Board of Education of the City of Fargo hired Dr. Gandhi as the Superintendent of Schools. He officially assumed the position in July 2018.
