• On Friday, 29 Mar 2019, 28 cadets from ND-20061 departed from Fargo South High School for Sioux Falls, South Dakota to compete in the Sioux Falls Invitational Drill Meet. The cadets arrived in Sioux Falls late Friday afternoon and stop at the Empire Mall for dinner. They then headed to Lincoln High School to compete in the Physical Fitness Competition. The Physical Fitness Competition consisted of four events; push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups/flex-arm hang, and a relay race. The competition had both a male and female division and the Raptors provided respectable results with the guys finishing in 7th place and the ladies in 4th place. The cadets then headed to the South Dakota Army National Guard Regional Training Facility to spend the night. On Saturday morning the cadets were up early and headed back to Lincoln High School for some pre-competition practice. The competition field consisted of 8 other JROTC units from North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois. The Raptors were one of two Air Force unit in a field dominated with Marine Corps units. The Raptors turned in an outstanding performance finishing 3rd Overall. Individual event placing was as follows:

    Inspection - 7th Place

    Unarmed Regulation Drill - 2nd Place

    Armed Regulation Drill - 5th Place

    Unarmed Exhibition Drill - 1st Place

    Armed Exhibition Drill - 3rd Place

    Varsity Color Guard - 1st Place

    First Year Unarmed Drill - 2nd Place

    First Year Color Guard - 7th Place

    First Year Armed Drill - 4th Place

    Overall it was a good trip and a great time. Thanks to all the parents that made the trip down to South Dakota to support the Raptors.
