• On Friday, 22 Mar 2024, 33 cadets from ND-20061 departed at 12:30PM from Fargo South High School for Sioux Falls, South Dakota to compete in the 19th Annual Sioux Falls Invitational Drill Meet. The cadets arrived in Sioux Falls in late afternoon and spent a couple hours at the Sioux Falls Mall eating dinner and checking out the shops.  That evening, the cadets participated in the Physical Fitness portion of the competition that consisted of pullups, pushups, situps, and a relay race.  The males and females competed on separate teams with both the males and females finishing in fourth.  Friday night the team slept in the South Dakota Army National Guard Regional Training Institute in Sioux Falls.  The cadets woke early Saturday morning and headed over to Lincoln High School for the drill portion of the competition.  The drill competition field consisted of 5 other JROTC units from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. The Raptors turned in a solid performance, finishing fourth overall. Individual event placing was as follows:

    Inspection - 4th Place

    Unarmed Regulation - 4th Place

    Armed Regulation Drill - 1st Place

    Unarmed Exhibition Drill - 3rd Place

    Armed Exhibition Drill - 3rd Place

    Varsity Color Guard - 3rd Place

    First Year Unarmed Drill - 5th Place

    First Year Color Guard - 1st Place

    First Year Armed Drill - 3rd Place

    Overall it was a great trip and an outstanding time. Thanks to all the parents that made the trip down to South Dakota to support the Raptors.
