2018 DEVIL DOG COMPETITION
On Friday, 26 Oct, 32 cadets from ND-20061 left Fargo to head to St Paul, Minnesota for the 21st Annual Devil Dog Classic. The Devil Dog Classic is a drill and physical fitness competition hosted by the Marine Corps Junior ROTC unit from Como Park Senior High School. Friday afternoon the Raptors were treated to an afternoon at Dave and Busters playing video games and eating lunch. Friday evening the cadets headed to Como Park High School for the PT and Knowledge Bowl competitions. The PT competition consisted of pullups, situps, and relay race, while Knowledge Bowl contained question from various topics from Greek Gods to World Geography. After the evening competitions the team head to the Bloomington Army National Guard Armory where they spent the night. Saturday morning the cadets were up bright and early to prepare for the competition. Nine JROTC teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota competed in 8 different events (Color Guard, Unarmed Drill, Inspection, Armed Regulation, Unarmed Exhibition, First Color Guard, First Year Unarmed Drill, and First Year Armed Drill). Our Unarmed Exhibition and Varsity Armed Drill teams shined finishing 3rd in their respective categories. The teams finished 6th overall.
