2019 DEVIL DOG COMPETITION
On Friday, 25 Oct, 32 cadets from ND-20061 left Fargo to head to St Paul, Minnesota for the 22nd Annual Devil Dog Classic. The Devil Dog Classic is a drill, knowledge bowl, and physical fitness competition hosted by the Marine Corps Junior ROTC unit from Como Park Senior High School. Friday afternoon the Raptors were treated to an afternoon at Dave and Busters playing video games and eating lunch. Friday evening the cadets headed to Como Park Senior High School for the PT and Knowledge Bowl competitions. The PT competition consisted of pullups, situps, and relay race, while Knowledge Bowl contained question from various topics from Greek Gods to World Geography. After the evening competitions the team head to the Marine Corps Home Training Center at Fort Snelling where they spent the night. Saturday morning the cadets were up bright and early to prepare for the competition. Seven JROTC teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota competed in 7 different events (Color Guard, Unarmed Drill, Inspection, Armed Regulation, Unarmed Exhibition, First Color Guard, and First Year Unarmed Drill). Our Varsity Color Guard and Knowledge Bowl Teams finished in 1st; First Year Color Guard and Armed Regulation Teams finished in 2nd; and First Year Unarmed Regulation and Inspection Teams finished in 3rd. The team overall finished in 2nd Place. Great job cadets!
