• Fargo Public Schools wants to ensure that all students have access to meals during the school year regardless if they are learning in-person or through distance learning.

    The Nutrition Services Department is providing a meal pick up service for students when they are distance learning, both in Level 3 - Hybrid Instruction and Virtual Academy. These meals are currently being provided at no cost. Breakfast and lunch can be ordered for each day of distance learning for a one-week period.

  • Meals for students during distance learning may be picked up by the student or a parent/guardian. Further instructions will be emailed and/or posted at the pickup location. The student receiving the meal will be recorded by staff at the time of pickup.

    Virtual Academy students can pick up meals on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at North High, South High, and Davies High Schools.

    Remote and Distance Learning Meal Precautions:

    • Bagged meals are available through pre-order for days students are remote learning. Meals will be distributed utilizing physical distancing. Options will be communicated to households weekly.
    • Meals will consist of frozen, refrigerated, and shelf-stable foods. Meals will be stored at proper temperatures and will not exceed 4 hours out of proper temperature during the distribution process.
    • Proper storage and preparation instructions will be provided for bagged meals.

    School meals are essential to student health and well-being. They ensure that students have the nutrition they need throughout the day to learn. Fargo Public Schools will provide meals to students learning both in-person and remotely following the USDA’s school breakfast and lunch programs. The plan for meal service is flexible and will be modified in response to updates in recommendations and regulations.
