Online Class Information

  • When referring to an "Online Class," there are two different topics of discussion...

Online Credit Recovery: Davies offers online classes onsite with no cost to students as a credit recovery option once all other options have been exhausted. Students will be enrolled in an Online class period, with an instructor. Students are expected to report to class daily, as with any other academic class. Teachers and paraeducators in the classroom will guide students through the online process, keep track of progress, and proctor all quizzes and tests.

Online Classes for Advancement: Sometimes, a student may choose to take a class on their own through the North Dakota Center for Distance Education (NDCDE) because they cannot fit the class into their day at Davies, or they want to get ahead - an example would be online PE. It is very important to remember the following items regarding online classes via NDCDE:

    • Visit the website www.ndcde.org for additional information and to view lists of available classes
    • View THIS TUTORIAL explaining how to enroll.
    • Classes taken through NDCDE will cost money, for which the school is NOT responsible to pay
      • Most classes cost $189 per half credit
      • Payment is due at the time you register
      • All questions regarding payment are to be directed to NDCDE
    • Davies teachers will NOT be available to help tutor a student in one of these classes
    • It is the student's/family's responsibility to ensure the student is signed up for the class.
    • Teachers and other staff at Davies WILL NOT PROCTOR TESTS AND QUIZZES. This must be done on the student's time, and arrangements to do so are the responsibility of the student and family.
    • *On the "Test Administrator" section of the registration form, you should enter parent/guardian contact information*
    • Input Mr. Cody's name and e-mail (codyt@fargo.k12.nd.us) for school approval.
    • Any questions/concerns regarding the online class should be directed to NDCDE staff.
    • Classes are generally 20 weeks in length. Do not register for the class until you are ready to begin.
    • When a student completes a class, NDCDE will send an official grade report to Davies, and our regsitrar will input the grade onto the student's transcript.
