• HOBY YOUTH LEADERSHIP

    Attention Sophomores!! The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) program is looking for leaders! The HOBY program introduces you to distinguished leaders of the community from various sectors such as business, technology, education, government, arts and science. The vision is to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference in their communities through effective leadership.

    HOBY 2021 is in June with dates TBD. HOBY is on the campus of Bismarck State University. There is a fee to attend and our representative needs to find a way to and from Bismarck. For more information, go to www.ndhoby.org. If interested, please see your counselor.

    NORTH DAKOTA GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL

    **AS of March 5th, 2020 - GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL WILL NOT BE OFFERED FOR SUMMER 2020.**

    North Dakota Governor's School is a FREE, 6-week, summer residential program funded by the state of North Dakota.  NDGS is for motivated high school sophomores and juniors where they live, work and have fun on NDSU's campus.  Students apply to participate in one of seven specialized areas:  Architecture/Landscape Architecture, Engineering, English, Math, Experiemental Science, INformational TEchnology, and Visual or Performing Arts.  For more information and to apply, visit: https://www.ndsu.edu/govschool/applications/ Application deadline is:  TBD.

  • NORTH DAKOTA LEADERSHIP SEMINAR

    North Dakota Leadership Seminar is a non-profit organization committed to providing leadership experiences to sophomores free of charge. For 2021, Juniors will also be welcome to attend as NDLS 2020 was cancelled. Seminars focus on leadership skill deelopment, teamwork, communication, and community service.  NDLS brings students together with leaders from around the state of North Dakota to provide life-changing experiences these students won't forget. NDLS 2021 is June 4th-6 on the campus of the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, ND.

    Each school in North Dakota can send 2-3 students. If you are interested in attending NDLS, please stop by the counseling office for an application. Applications are due March 12th, 2021. 

  • ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

    Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) is a week-long camp for students who have completed their junior year. The camp includes engaging discussions, inspirational addresses, leadership training and social activities designed to enhance personal development, leadership skills and good citizenship. RYLA is on the campus of the University of Minnesota - Crookston. Dates are TBD for 2021.

    JUNIORS! A once-in-a-lifetime experience awaits you this summer! The American Legion North Dakota Boys State 2021 will be held on the campus of North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton. Dates for 2021 are TBD. This unique educational program focuses on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with government bodies and elected public officials. Hear, learn, and be inspired by the finest political leaders, government officials and other influential figures in the state. You also can earn high school credit and potential scholarships.

  • NORTH DAKOTA GIRLS STATE

    JUNIORS! A once-in-a lifetime opportunity awaits you this summer! The North Dakota American Legion Auxillary Flickertail Girls State 2021 is on the campus of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Dates for 2021 are TBD. This experience provides lessons and participation in municipal, county, and state government. The goal of the week is to have each girl recognize her duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities as an American citizen. You also can earn high school credit and potential scholarships.
