• Sanford MedX-HS

    Sanford MedX – HS is a healthcare career exploration program offered for high school juniors and seniors from Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead and surrounding areas. MedX includes a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a variety of healthcare careers. Our sessions offer hands-on activities, presentations and tours, while investigating familiar and not-so familiar healthcare areas.

    Students apply to attend one (13-week) semester program, either fall or spring. The program costs $75 and applications are due on April 15th, 2022 for the 22-23 school year. 

  • ND Highway Patrol Youth Academy

    The NDHP Youth Academy is a one-week residential learning experience for young adults ages 16-19. The 2022 Youth Academy is scheduled for June 20-24 at the Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA) in Bismarck.

    Attention Sophomores!! The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) program is looking for leaders! The HOBY program introduces you to distinguished leaders of the community from various sectors such as business, technology, education, government, arts and science. The vision is to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference in their communities through effective leadership.

    HOBY 2022 is June 17-19. HOBY is on the campus of Bismarck State University. There is a fee to attend and our representative needs to find a way to and from Bismarck. For more information, go to www.ndhoby.org. If interested, please see your counselor.

    North Dakota Governor's School is a FREE, 6-week, summer residential program funded by the state of North Dakota.  NDGS is for motivated high school sophomores and juniors where they live, work and have fun on NDSU's campus.  Students apply to participate in one of seven specialized areas:  Architecture/Landscape Architecture, Engineering, English, Math, Experiemental Science, INformational TEchnology, and Visual or Performing Arts.  For more information and to apply, visit: https://www.ndsu.edu/govschool/applications/ Application deadline is:  TBD.

    North Dakota Leadership Seminar is a non-profit organization committed to providing leadership experiences to sophomores free of charge. Seminars focus on leadership skill development, teamwork, communication, and community service.  NDLS brings students together with leaders from around the state of North Dakota to provide life-changing experiences these students won't forget. NDLS 2022 is June 3-5 on the campus of the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, ND.  Because of the unforeseen circumstances that COVID-19 has created in the last two years, this year we are opening our program to both graduating sophomores and juniors.

    Each school in North Dakota can send 2-3 students. If you are interested in attending NDLS, please stop by the counseling office for an application. 


    Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) is a week-long camp for students who have completed their junior year. The camp includes engaging discussions, inspirational addresses, leadership training and social activities designed to enhance personal development, leadership skills and good citizenship. RYLA is on the campus of the University of Minnesota - Crookston. RYLA 2022 is July 10-16.

    JUNIORS! A once-in-a-lifetime experience awaits you this summer! The American Legion North Dakota Boys State 2022 will be held June 12-17. This unique educational program focuses on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with government bodies and elected public officials. Hear, learn, and be inspired by the finest political leaders, government officials and other influential figures in the state. You also can earn high school credit and potential scholarships.

    JUNIORS! A once-in-a lifetime opportunity awaits you this summer! The North Dakota American Legion Auxillary Flickertail Girls State 2022 is on the campus of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Dates for 2022 are June 12-17. This experience provides lessons and participation in municipal, county, and state government. The goal of the week is to have each girl recognize her duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities as an American citizen. You also can earn high school credit and potential scholarships.
