AP Exam Score Reporting Change! All students who will take AP exams this spring, and their parents, need to know that this year AP scores will not be mailed to homes; they will only be available online. To get scores, students must sign up for a free College Board account by going to www.apscore.org . We encourage students to take this step now and sign up for their accounts, so they'll be ready to access their AP scores in July. Students will receive a handout with more detailed instructions about accessing scores, when they take AP exams.

COUNSELORS visit with JUNIORS In March counselors visited with juniors in their U.S. History classes.  Items covered included:  important information regarding planning for post-secondary options, ACT vs. SAT, critical dates for ACT testing and ACT preparation options, scholarship information, and a timeline guidleline for juniors to use from now through graduation. Students had the opportunity to try out the NDUS admissions electronic calculator.  Make up sessions were offered March 27 and April 3, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. in room 102.  Students can see Mrs. Court if they were unable to attend one of these sessions.

PERSONAL SAFETY   - Each week there will be a personal safety topic and short facts about that topic posted throughout the school.  More information and resources (community and online) will be updated and posted on the Fargo North counseling website. This will provide students and adults more concentrated imformation about personal safety.

ONLINE DUAL CREDIT OPTIONS   - Are you interested in taking an online college course for high school credit? NDSCS is currently accepting enrollment in their online courses for the fall of 2013. Stop in the counseling office to pick up information. See your counselor for more details. The registration deadline is May 3. Tuition assistance may be available for students who qualify for the free/reduced lunch program.

Representatives from post-secondary institutions, military and other programs visit North High during the school year. If you are interested, please stop by their table in the Sparta Center to visit and pick up information.  This is a wonderful way to ask any questions you might have.  If you have class at this time, see your counselor for a pass.

Selective Service - Federal law requires men to register with the Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Students can register at any Post Office or online at www.sss.gov .

North Dakota Career Resource Network (NDCRN) A resource for students, parents and educators.

North Dakota College Access Network (NDCAN ) - administered by Bank of North Dakota, is a free service providing students with important information to better prepare you for the transition to college. NDCAN gives you an organized and simple site to learn more about going to college whether you plan on going to a school in North Dakota or elsewhere.

North Dakota Scholars Program - This program provides merit-based, full-tuition scholarships to North Dakota high school graduates who choose to earn undergraduate degrees in North Dakota. More information can be found by visiting the NDUS system information page.

Parents and students can request to meet with a school counselor annually to review, discuss, and revise four year plans for graduation.  Parents can call the counsling office, 446-2412, for an appointment, or students can come to the counseling office to set up a time.  Whenever a student or parent initiates an inquiry about credits earned, graduation status, or course selection, counselors are eager to discuss academic planning options.
