On Saturday, 6 Apr, the Raptors of ND-20061 hosted our first Annual Juggernaut Team Sports Competition. Four JROTC units from throughout North Dakota attended the competition held at Fargo South High School. The four units represented were from Devils Lake, Fargo, Minot, and West Fargo. The competition consisted of seven events: basketball, volleyball, flickerball, soccer, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, and a team relay race. Other than the relay race, the other 6 sports competed in a double elimination tournament. The champions in each sport received individual medals and the overall team champion took home the Juggernaut Traveling Trophy to display with pride over the next year. The Raptors of ND-20061 brought their "A" game to the competition on Saturday. The Raptors captured 5 first place finishes (basketball, flickerball, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, and the relay race) and 2 second place finishes (soccer and volleyball). |
Thirty cadets from the Raptors of ND-20061 headed down to Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Friday, 15 Mar, to compete in the annual Sioux Falls Invitational Drill Competition. The competition consisted of two parts, Friday evening was the Physical Training (PT) competition and Saturday was the drill competition. Eight teams from Illinois, South Dakota, Minnesota, and North Dakota competed in the event. ND-20061 was the only Air Force JROTC with the remainder being Marine Corps and Army units. The PT competition on Friday evening consisted of pull-ups/flex arm hang, situps, pushups, and a relay race. The Raptors battled valiantly with the males finishing 5th overall. Saturday consisted of a full day of drill events. Eight different drill events were held throughout the day (inspection, unarmed platoon, armed platoon, unarmed exhibition, armed exhibition, color guard, LE-1 color guard, and LE-1 squad). The Raptors performed brilliantly taking 4 first place finishes (armed exhibition, unarmed exhibition, color guard, LE-1 color guard), 1 second place (unarmed platoon), and a fourth place (LE-1 unarmed squad). The team took an overall 3rd place in the competition. All the hardwork and early morning practices paid off big for the team. Great job Raptors! |

2013 TIMBERWOLVES COLOR GUARD |
Back in December 2012, ND-20061 was asked by the Minnesota Timberwolves' organization to present the Colors before one of their home basketball games. So on Saturday, 2 Feburary 2013, seventy cadets and family members headed down to the twin cities to attend the Minnesota Timberwolves game against the New Orleans Hornets and watch four members of the varsity color guard team present the Colors. Cadets Randel Abrahamson, Brennan Bennington, Marriah Iwuchukwu, and Anthony Coronato did an outstanding job representing the Corps at the game. Although the presentation went very fast, it was a neat experience to be down on the floor with the NBA players and to present the Colors before over 10,000 fans. To watch a video of the presentation click on the link below. |

On Saturday, 15 Dec 2012, the cadets of ND-20061 held their annual Military Ball. Seventy-three cadets and their guests attended the Ball and were treated to night of great food and fun. The Ball started out with the traditional POW-MIA Ceremony which was followed by a delicious dinner catered by Johnny Carino's Restaurant. After dinner, the attendees were treated to an outstanding presentation by Command Sergeant Major Roger B. Schulz, the Command Sergeant Major from the Army Reserve Medical Command. SgtMaj Schulz shared some very ensightful words on leadership with the cadets and their guests. After the formal activities, the cadets and their guests danced the night away to music provided by Class Music. All and all everyone had an outstanding time. Thanks to Cadet Olin and his team for organizing the Ball and also thank you to the parents that volunteer to be the wait staff for the night. |
