Since 2001, the Foundation has awarded 725 grants, totaling over $450,085 in funding, to teachers and schools for innovative learning programs which would otherwise not be possible. All grant requests are reviewed by a committee of teachers, parents, business representatives and Foundation Board members. Grants are awarded in February and October of each year.
Grant Catagories
The Foundation awards grants in the following categories:
- teacher mini-grants (up to $500), designed to fund innovative and creative classroom projects
- school-wide grants (up to $2,500), for projects impacting most or all of the school population
- parent/community involvement grants (up to $500), for projects meant to increase parent and community involvement in the school
Priority consideration will be given to proposals which:
- Provide FPS students with an enriched or enhanced learning experience
- Have the potential for both short-term and long-term educational impact
- Are creative, innovative and collaborative in their approach
Consideration for grants WILL NOT normally be given to projects which:
- Could or should be provided through the Fargo Public School District
- Are not viewed as an effective and efficient use of Foundation funds
- Do not have an educational content or purpose
