SUMMER READING 2010

Each year, I usually give each student (K-5) a bookmark with reading suggestions for the summer.  I'm trying something different this year.  Each student will receive a BINGO/READ card (with suggested titles and authors). 

Here is what you do...............

1.  Read a book.

2.  Mark with an X what kind of book it is on the card (e.g. Fiction, Poetry, Chapter book).  (one book, one X)

2a. Write the name of your book on the back of the card.

3.  Read another book and mark another X.

4.  In August when you return to school, bring the card and show me that you have read 4 types of books in a row. 

4a. Have a parent/guardian sign your card so they know what books you have read this summer.

5. I will take your picture and give you a bookmark.  If you have a blackout (i.e. have read a book of each type - 16 books), you will receive a star by your picture and 4 bookmarks.
