Derek Ouren - Head Varsity Coach
Coach Ouren was a member of the Fargo North 2002 Class A State Championship Team that went 25-0. Along with basketball, he was a part of two state championship teams in football(2001) and baseball(2002). He graduated from North Dakota State University in Social Studies Education and is currently teaching Government and AP Government at Fargo North. |
Ryan Gravalin- Junior Varsity Coach Coach Gravalin will be in his 4th year with the Spartan Girls Basketball program. This will be his third year as the JV coach at North. He has previously coached sophomore girls at Shanley High School and has also coached middle school basketball and track at both Ben Franklin and West Fargo. Coach Gravalin also likes tube socks. Coach Gravalin is in his 3rd year of teaching 8th grade American History at Ben Franklin. He comes from a coaching family. He and his wife Kelsey have 3 children, Finn, Owen, and Nora. |
Alison Hanson- Sophomore Coach Coach Hanson will be starting her 2nd year coaching with the Spartan Girls’ Basketball team. Although this will be Coach Hanson’s first year coaching, she is no stranger to the program, she played basketball for the Fargo Spartans when she attended high school here in ’02-’05.
Coach Hanson graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in teaching social studies and psychology. She teaches Psychology and World Cultures at Fargo North and also coaches volleyball and softball at Fargo North. |
Nate Ostby - Freshman Coach Coach Ostby will be starting his 2nd year coaching within the Spartan Girls' Basketbal Program this year. He has previously coached within the 9th Grade Boy's Basketball Program at Davies High School.
Coach Ostby graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Coaching. He teaches 2nd Grade at Washington Elementary School and also coaches Football at Fargo North and Track & Field at Fargo North High School. |
