STEP ONE - for all applicants:

Develop an online application using Applitrack which is located on the FPS main page, under Career Opportunities. Each applicant for the Fargo Public Schools will need for their online file the following documents:

  • Three current letters of reference
  • A current resume

Additionally Teacher Applicants will need to scan into the Applitrack system:

  • A current teaching license
  • Complete transcripts for each degree from the institutions conferring the degrees

STEP TWO - for all applicants:

Applitrack files and the reference checks are shared with principals or direct supervisors who may contact the applicants for interviews.

STEP THREE - for all applicants:

An applicant is recommended to the Director of Human Resources for a given position by the principal or direct supervisor.

STEP FOUR - for new employees: 

The Director of Human Resources will recommend for hire all certified potential employees to the Superintendent and the Board of Education for employment. After the Board has approved the recommendations, the contract will be issued.

STEP FIVE - new employees:

Once an offer for employment has been issued and accepted, all new employees will be subject to a background check. This includes a fingerprint check (if this has not been done for licensure), a check with the National Sex Offender Registry, as well as a state and local criminal check.
