Fargo South High School is a public school with enrollment of 1100 students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12.  The Fargo school district requires a minimum of 24 credits for graduation in 2013 including:

 

English   4 credits

Math 3 credits

Science  3 credits

Social Studies   3 credits

PE/Health 2 credits

Foreign Language/Fine Art/Career and

Technical Education 3 Credits

Electives   6 credits


 

 

Advanced Placement courses are offered in Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Literature, Economics, Government, European History, U.S. History, Psychology, Drawing, 2D Design, and 3D Design. Accelerated English is available in grades 10 and 11. Anatomy/Physiology, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, Auto Technology 1, Auto Technology 2, CISCO Networking and Computer Engineering may also be taken for dual (college) credit. Fargo South High uses the following grading system:

 

A = 4.00 = 90-100%

B = 3.00 = 80-89%

C = 2.00 = 70-79%

D = 1.00 = 60-69%

F = 0.00 =< 60%

 

P = Passing

S = Satisfactory, not in GPA

U = Unsatisfactory, not in GPA

WF = Withdraw/fail

Z = Audit 

 

Cumulative grade point average (GPA) and class rank are unweighted. Class transcripts will also show weighted GPA and rank; only AP courses will be weighted with grades of A,B,& C receiving an extra grade point. Students are ranked on the basis of GPA for all classes taken in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12.

More than 60% of the student body reports participation in at least one extracurricular or co-curricular activity.

 

Class of 2012: Average ACT score = 20.8 Note: The State of North Dakota requires all juniors to take the ACT or WorkKeys exam.
